September Building Classroom Community | Social Emotional Learning
$5.00
Description
Every new class begins as individuals who don’t know each other yet. Before real learning happens, they need to come together and feel like they belong. This resource gives them the tools to build that community themselves.
This September Building Classroom Community helps students connect with classmates and build a sense of belonging. They work together to create a classroom community that feels welcoming to everyone.
What’s Inside:
✅ Teacher Directions – Simple, easy-to-follow implementation tips for each activity so you can pick it up and teach with no prep.
✅ Our Community Tree – A collaborative bulletin board display where every student completes a leaf showing what they bring to the classroom. Includes a print-and-assemble tree, a variety of leaf templates with belonging-focused prompts, enlarged teacher examples, and the “Our Community Grows Here” bulletin board heading. Color and black-and-white versions included.
✅ Classroom Connection Cards – 16 “Find someone who…” prompt cards that get students up, talking, and connecting with classmates they don’t usually reach. Includes color and black-and-white versions (print the B&W on colored paper to save ink), plus student recording sheets to capture what they learn about each other.
✅ Our Community Promise – A guided activity for building a class-created promise rooted in belonging, kindness, safety, and working together. Includes class discussion prompt posters, a teacher-led brainstorming page, recording sheets, ready-to-post “Our Classroom Promise” posters, and student promise pages with word banks and signature lines.
